Ark-La-Tex MOAA 2025 Chapter Scholarship Applications Available!
The Ark-La-Tex MOAA chapter will offer $30,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors intending to continue their education at the college or university level in the Fall of 2025.
Each year the Ark-La-Tex chapter offers deserving high school seniors the opportunity to compete for thousands of dollars in scholarship grants. Grants range in value from a minimum of $1,000 to as much as $3,000 or potentially more.
The chapter has two categories for application with slightly different qualifications and criteria:
The Academic Scholarship category focus is predominately predicated on academic performance in combination with demonstrated leadership, earned honors and school/community involvement. Children, grandchildren or great grandchildren of Chapter members in good standing may apply for Academic Scholarships. Graduating seniors applying for an Academic scholarship must be sponsored by a Chapter member in good standing for at least two previous years.
The Leadership Scholarship category focus is predominately predicated on demonstrated leadership in Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and/or Civil Air Patrol (JROTC/CAP) in combination with leadership roles in school/community projects or programs, intent to apply or acceptance to a military academy or college ROTC program, and academic performance and earned honors or awards. Any graduating high school senior involved in JROTC/CAP can apply for a Chapter Leadership Scholarship. Graduating seniors not enrolled in JROTC/CAP may apply for a Leadership Scholarship if accepted to a military academy or will enroll in a college ROTC program. The maximum amount for Leadership Scholarship grants is expected to be $1,000.
Financial need will not be a consideration when determining those receiving Chapter Scholarships.
