MOAA – One Organization for Every Officer, at Every Stage
This website is the online voice of the Ark-La-Tex Chapter of MOAA, headquartered at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana and is a supplement to our monthly newsletter, The Military Officer. Thank you for visiting. Membership is open to active duty, former, retired, and National Guard and Reserve commissioned and warrant officers of the uniformed services and their surviving spouses.
The Military Officers Association of America is an association of officers, just like you. We understand the needs and concerns of officers and their families. We are here to help you meet those needs and life’s challenges along the way. Our chapter is an independent affiliate chartered by the national MOAA organization.
Year after year, MOAA successfully defends the interests of all military personnel, advances their cause within the Department of Defense (DoD) and on Capital Hill, and provides a host of vital resources and benefits that serve the needs of officers and their families.
When you joined the military, you became part of something bigger. The bonds you forge stay with you throughout your life. The same is true with MOAA. When you become a member, you are joining a community of officers who share a sense of camaraderie and patriotism that lasts a lifetime.
The benefits of belonging to an organization that is fighting for your rights, helps to ease the transition to new careers, shields you from the rising costs of insurance, guides you through life’s challenges, keeps you informed, and makes higher education a reality.
Join the one military association that is with you every step of the way . . . serving your needs and fighting for your rights. Whether you are deployed overseas, making the transition to a second career or grappling with your retirement benefits, the Military Officers Association of America is on your side for life.
For 75 years, MOAA has been serving those who serve their country. With nearly 370,000 members from every branch of the service, including active duty, retirees, Guard and Reserve officers, and their families, we are proud to be the country’s largest and most influential officers association.
The MOAA Foundation Mission

The MOAA Foundation creates, enhances, expands, or supports high-impact, proven-successful programs and services that enable the nation’s uniformed servicemembers and veterans of all ranks and their families to maintain a quality of life reflective of their selfless service to America. The foundation funds these programs and services through philanthropic contributions from the American people and organizations that support our mission. Students apply for the Education Assistance Program through a single, streamlined application process. The application includes questions about the student’s academic achievements, extracurricular activities, military affiliation, and financial background. Additionally, applicants are invited to share their post-graduation plans and college aspirations through an essay question. Visit: https://charities.moaa.org/scholarship-fund/loan-programs
Unlike traditional programs where students apply for specific funding types, our approach allows us to match each student with the most suitable funding opportunities based on their eligibility. This way, students won’t miss out on any funding opportunities they’re qualified for.

As the official travel agency for MOAA, our mission is to provide the very best vacation experience for every member. In addition to the opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie of traveling with your fellow MOAA members from across the country we have also negotiated special value-added offers to enhance your next vacation.
